 FOOD FOR YOUR SOUL

At Dharmanas Retreats, preparing and sharing food is an essential part of the retreat experience. One that we approach with care, intention and heart.

Yoga teaches us to honour the body as a temple. The way we nourish ourselves can influence our energy, clarity and overall sense of well-being. For this reason, our meals are vegetarian, balanced and thoughtfully prepared to complement the rhythm of daily yoga practice.

We favour fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, creating colourful dishes that are both satisfying and easy to enjoy. Meals are designed to provide lasting energy without leaving the body feeling heavy, allowing you to move more comfortably during practice and rest more deeply afterwards.

After morning meditation and Hatha Yoga, guests enjoy a vegetarian brunch. In the evening, following the slower rhythm of Yin Yoga, a homemade dinner brings everyone together around the table. These shared meals offer an opportunity to pause, connect and experience food with greater presence.

Our approach is not about restriction or perfection. It is about simplicity, balance and pleasure, listening to the body, appreciating the ingredients and rediscovering the joy of mindful eating.

Every dish is prepared with the intention of nourishing more than the body alone. Through flavour, colour and care, food becomes part of the retreat journey: a daily ritual supporting vitality, calm and connection.

Between the studies of Ayurveda, neuroscience and my personal experience while traveling, my eating habits have changed, naturally adapting to my needs. By listening to my body, I became aware of which foods changed my mood, made me feel heavy and anxious, or made me feel happy and full of energy.

In yoga & surf retreats in Tenerife, I am inspired by local and organic products from local farmers. A quality of seasonal products that satisfy our senses through vegetarian or vegan meals often gluten free and free from dairy products.

Their flavors and smells help me create meals that aid in the detox and self-healing process of retreats. I have learned to cook consciously, in silence to feel the aromas that guide me. I managed to relieve ailments through the meals I prepared by combining it with a more conscious and positive lifestyle.

It's good to know that a healthy diet combined with yoga provides a better alternative for managing stress and anxiety by promoting relaxation. A yogic diet helps harmonize energy flow and creates a peaceful union between body and mind.
